This applies to applications where a "Screwdriver Antenna"
is not possible, and you not too cheep (Yah, you know how you are!)
This idea will allow you to have 7-10 (80-6M) different
antennas, and whips that can work, on any of the other bands (Lower part
of the antenna sets the band, upper part, sets the segment frequency -
Using the Quick disconnects to swap the whips)...
Your whips (and disconnects, inc.) end up looking like this:
____________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________
_________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________A "fill" whip...

So now that your done. What now?
So you want to talk on, 7290 kHz. Put the 40M bottom section, and the whip marked within the 40M band. Check where the SWR is low. Shorter whip for higher freq. So you find that the 40m whip is best for 7220 kHz, so you need a shorter whip, so using the quick disconnects, swap out the upper section for a, 1/4-1/2 inch shorter whip. Recheck SWR. So you find that the 1/2 inch shorter whip is perfect, mark it as 7250-7300 kHz (or whatever Also you can tweak the whip; But, remember the goal is to have, no two whips, the same size. Also, that "saved" extra whip, can be used as a "fill" whip, if the existing whips are too long or short. Usually, 1/8 to 1/2 inch, differences are enough)....Lame graphic of antenna:

Acknowledgments:Chris Knight K6PIC (x-KD6IXG). It was Chris' idea. I originally thought it was a stupid idea. He changed my mind. I added the QD to make it all, more ease and fast... For what you will spend a Screwdriver antenna makes more sense...
